22nd April 2011

The 22nd April 2011 was my birthday and the day was spent with my Daughter Beth.

We caught the ten o'clock train to Charing Cross and halfway through the journey there my mobile rang and despite my efforts to tell my sister I was on a packed train I had my sister, her partner and my nephew singing Happy Birthday to me, hence I could feel myself getting redder and redder, the other passengers probably wondered what was going on.

Once at Charing Cross we emerged into brilliant sunshine and headed off to Covent Garden and had a leisurely wander around the stalls and shops and watched a couple of the street shows.

We then headed off to Trafalgar Square and on to St James Park, walked the whole length of the Mall past Buckingham Palace and down to Big Ben. We then passed Downing Street and made our way to the London Eye which was packed with people everywhere. We then went in The South Bank and I was treated to lunch by Beth which we took and sat down in the ballroom hall and watched a dance show for half an hour.

After lunch and a welcome sit down we found our way along the embankment and once again made our way to Covent Garden where I was treated again to an ice cream. We then headed back to Charing Cross and caught the 5 o'clock train home.

I had a brilliant day in lovely bright sunshine.

Easter Bonnet and Mothers Day

Seems that I have become the official annual Easter bonnet maker as my Mum can no longer fill her obligations. So Saturday entailed a trip to my sisters house with a bag a goodies and two hats and this is Brooke in one of the finished results, hope Mum approves.

So to Mothers Day which I have been dreading as it was the first one where I have not had my Mum around. However I spent a wonderful afternoon with my daughter Beth, we walked Blue down by the river for an hour and then on our return she cooked me a lovely dinner.

After dinner I even made time to make a couple of cards, one for my god daughter Amy and one for a lovely lady called Chrissie who has given me a great deal of support over the last couple of years.

I used Molly Bloom stamps which were a free gift from Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine and papers from Daisy and Dandelion Picnic Patch paper collection.

Love and Miss You Mum x
